Student Information System

RPC Data has developed a Student Information Management System (SIMS) with the following objectives,

To ensure that applications for specific courses are vetted using the correct criteria
To provide a facility for registration of students onto course programs
To provide a facility to monitor every student’s progress and performance and provide sufficient information for remedial action if necessary
To provide adequate accounting and management information
To provide information required by examining bodies

The application has been developed using Oracle on Linux and an entirely Web based user interface developed with PSQL, XML and PHP. This therefore provides an extremely low cost, highly reliable and extensible application that was easy to learn and quick to adopt.
