Finally the new Chairperson, Mma Tebelelo Seretse, stood up to offer a vote of thanks - and to encourage the authorities to acknowledge citizen involvement in listed companies when evaluating them for Government contracts. At present the country's citizen empowerment policy treats companies registered on the local bourse with the same consideration as foreign companies.

She finished by presenting a bottle of Champagne as a birthday gift to fellow Director, Paul Paledi.

The nations press were there to cover the event, which attracted considerable attention. The Daily News, and the Mmegi published news of the event itself; and the Mmegi also covered a political story of the relationship between Mma Venson and Mma Seretse.
