Rob, a British citizen, graduated from York University with a BA (Hons) in Biology and Education and completed a Programming Technology course at Control Data Institute, Leeds. Rob joined Control Data Institute as a trainee programmer (involving COBOL, RPG II and Z80 Assembler training) where he worked for four months following which he worked for Guardian Software Limited, a medium sized software house specializing in writing business applications for IBM Systems 36/38 and Wang VS mini-computers, until 1986. Thereafter Rob worked as a contract programmer in Harare before he came to Botswana and worked as a software manager with Extas Ect Ltd in Gaborone until 1989. In 1989 Rob formed Rob Pool Computing (Pty) Ltd which later became RPC Data Ltd. In 1992 RPC Data under Rob initiated a partnership with Oracle Corporation as a strategic business move which yielded rich dividends in the last 18 years. In 1999 Rob took the company to Botswana Stock Exchange in a successful listing, and in the same year conducted a successful merger with Acumen Consulting. In 2002 he took the company into the region, opening offices in Uganda and Zambia, invested in other successful joint venture and associated companies and led the path for RPC to develop an number of ‘Made in Botswana’ software and to be the only Botswana-based IT company to export services.
Komal V Rao
Komal has a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and a Post Graduate Diploma in Sales & Marketing. An overall experience of 21 years in IT Industry which include System Software Solutions, Hardware Solutions and Business Software Solutions. Contract management expert certified from George Washington University and has been negotiating contracts in pre-bid, bid and post bid stages of all contracts for RPC. He is also qualified in PRINCE 2 project management and is an Oracle Sales Champion. Started the sales department at RPC Data Ltd. in February 2001 and since then has been carrying out various responsibilities in various roles and developing a sound client base both in Botswana and in the region for RPC. Closed the company’s first major overseas business from Kenya worth over US$2.5 million in 2007 and has managed business development of RPC’s Uganda and Zambia subsidiaries.
Davison is a chartered accountant. He studied accounting at the University of Zimbabwe and served his articles of clerkship with AMG Global Chartered Accountants. He has more than 8 years experience in financial management and accounting, auditing, corporate finance and strategy, and taxation. He has wide knowledge of the southern African economies having worked in Zimbabwe and Botswana, and exposed to the Zambian, Ugandan and Kenyan economies. He is a passionate and diligent accountant who prides himself as a goal getter. He believes that financial strategy underpins corporate strategy. His analytical abilities and up to date knowledge of financial markets are key strengths to the management team. Above all Davison is an ardent student of leadership, who believes all things rise and fall on leadership.
Shejon Nambiath Ramankutty
Shejon has a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics and Telecommunications. Shejon came to Botswana in 2000 and has accumulated over 17 years of experience in the ICT industry. Shejon has participated in most of RPC’s high-value projects in Botswana and in regional clients including those in Zambia, Uganda, and Kenya. A quiet achiever, calm, focused, highly motivated, and enthusiastic individual with a expertise in both the business domain and technical domain of ERP and Bespoke Systems. He has a passion for managing projects with both internal and sub-contractor resources under tremendous cost and schedule pressure. He is very well respected by our clients for his expertise, transparency, and diligence – and in time has developed strong relationships with our clients.
